Reduce stress by exercise, nutrition and…. BREATHING

Deep breathing can help to reduce anxiety  – it engages the parasympathetic nervous system (the opposite of “fight or flight)  – reducing your heart rate, blood pressure and cortisol (often thought of as the “stress hormone”). 

An example of a simple breathing tool: breathe in for four counts and exhale slowly for six to eight (your heart beats slight faster in inhalation and slower in exhalation). This can also be helpful if you have difficulty getting to sleep.
