High Intensity Calorie Burning
via sessions which are
circuit based, varied, effective & fun!

If you are looking for an intense workout, with the aim of burning a high number of calories over a relatively short session then you should consider my conditioning workouts. These are similar to HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) but being circuit based they are more interesting, varied and functional. Furthermore, in addition to an intense cardio element they are also resistance focussed, meaning you will also make strength gains.

An example would be:

6 exercises – Battle ropes / Mountain climbers / Squat jumps / Kettle bell swings / Med ball slams / Box jumps –  for 30 seconds each with 30 seconds rest in between. Four rounds with a 90 seconds rest between each round.

Total time including the initial warm-up and stretching is around 40 minutes.

Unlike many class based circuit sessions, I offer 1:1 training and instruction of each and every exercise meaning you get the most out of the session and ensuring it is both safe and effective.

There are a multitude of physiological and cognitive effects arising from a well designed conditioning circuit – elevated lactate threshold, improved aerobic capacity, increased force production, improved coordination and focus, to name a few.

Furthermore, there are many ways in which the design and metrics of the program can be changed and adapted in order to enable measurable progressive overload – for example, changing the number or nature of the exercises, changing the work:rest ratio, the order (pre-loading, pre-exhaustion, post-exhaustion) or some combination of all of these.

The flexibility inherent in the design of these types of circuits means they can be adapted to enhance performance in a wide range of sports including running (all distances) , football, rugby, boxing and racquet sports amongst many others.
