As a couple we’ve been seeing Nick for a few months now and if you’re on the fence about exercise and fitness then do yourself a massive favour and give it a go. Nick is incredibly thorough in his approach and generous with both his time and knowledge, which is much appreciated. Seeing Nick once or twice a week has been hugely beneficial, both mentally and physically. Nick is a very experienced PT with a good knowledge of physiology and nutrition. The sessions are challenging but well paced with a good balance of motivation and encouragement. I have been having both nutrition and PT sessions with Nick for a few months now and it’s safe to say that he has helped me massively to get healthier and lose weight. I can’t believe how much I’m enjoying working with a Personal Trainer for the first time. Nick was recommended to me and since my goal is to get fitter and lose some weight his expertise as a Nutritionist is really helping. I enjoy the range of exercises and Nick is very good at demonstrating each exercise clearly and explaining the benefits. I asked Nick to run a session for two of my young teenagers at his home gym, to put them through their paces and show them how to use weights safely and give them a bit of a workout – my daughter enjoyed it so much she’s very keen to go again!; my son was worn out after the circuits at the end of the session, but really enjoyed the weights work. Nick gets the pace and level just right and is very helpful at gently pushing me to achieve more than I would have thought possible. After just 4 sessions I can already see the difference in my flexibility, stamina and the amount of weight I can lift – I can’t wait to see how much more I can progress.

I found Nick through a friend and a little (well a lot!) of encouragement from my wife. Nick is a brilliant find. I couldn’t recommend him more. He is knowledgeable, evidenced-based and motivating. His sessions are always challenging yet enjoyable and he respects you, the Client; by this I mean that if you have a niggle, a worry, an injury Nick will very quickly listen and adapt. Nick doesn’t believe in hot and sweaty sessions for the sake of them rather his programme is about building strength and fitness to improve the metabolic rate that delivers a healthier, leaner and stronger you!

I have been training with Nick for approximately 6 months, fitting sessions in around a chaotic schedule. Nick always tries to accommodate and fit a session in where he can, so I can keep up my training. Nick is a great motivator and our sessions are always fun which really makes a difference. I struggle with motivation and self discipline when it comes to exercise but my sessions with Nick really push me to do my best. A good variety of exercises stops it from getting boring. Nick is always very clear in explaining each exercise to ensure you are doing it correctly and safely. I have managed to get to a good weight through a combination of diet and exercise, and significant part of this is down to my PT.

We have recently started using the services of Nick Bluffield, as our personal trainer. The sessions we have had with him are always worth while, varied with a good range of exercises. I’m not a natural athlete, and never have been into sports (especially as a kid), and my weight has fluctuated a lot over the years. Weight loss is an important goal for me, but now I’m in my thirties, I’m realising that I need to really take care of my body and overall fitness to ensure some sort of longevity, and to try to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and God knows what else, what other kind of horrors that could await if I don’t try to make the most out of my body and look after it. Over the last couple of years, I have started to get into running, and I particularly enjoyed the mental health benefits it would bring, but have sometimes found my running ‘journey’ curtailed by injuries, usually a dodgy knee.
Because of all of these aims (weight loss, increased fitness, increased strength to reduce the risk of injury in general, but particularly for running), I started training with Nick, and I have found his encouragement, how he carefully and clearly demonstrates what needs to be done, and how he explains everything (technique, benefits, handy tips etc), and the workouts he sets have all been absolutely fantastic, and not just during the sessions. As a result (and thanks to Nick’s continued encouragement and tips), I’m increasingly finding myself making better and more mindful choices with food and drink, and I’m being more disciplined and consistent with working out beyond the sessions. I’ve already noticed that the work from the sessions seems to be increasing my confidence in my running again. I don’t believe I could or would be doing any of this, certainly not as consistently or as well, without the training sessions with Nick, because I wouldn’t have the confidence (or even the knowledge where to start) to do strength training otherwise, and if I’m honest, I’m not sure I’d have the discipline to be as consistent either, but the sessions inspire me to keep on throughout the week, and to make better choices. It’s still relatively early days as I’m about four weeks into my sessions now, but I’m sleeping better, feeling more confident and energised, and can already feel the benefits, and look forward to continuing to challenge myself with Nick’s guidance and support.
